The Tokios house, originally built in the 19th century for miners, was moved to its current location in 1964 by Mr. Tokios. In 2020 we set about to restore the interior and upgrade the home with modern facilities so that the house may remain enjoyed by many for centuries to come!

THE HISTORY
Beside the Rust tasting room in Oliver you’ll find a truly unique house. Originally built in the 19th century as a bunkhouse for miners at Sally Silver Mine near Beaverdel. In 1964 Mr. Tokios relocated it to where it stands today on Golden Mile Drive. Log by log through the tricky Anarchist Mountain switchback roads, and with nothing more than a Volkswagen truck and a trailer. This pioneer created a unique setting on what would become one of BC’s finest grape growing areas. The most striking feature is a one of a kind live desert roof that was sourced from the surrounding hillsides. Today it blends into the surroundings and winery with its constantly changing natural colours.

Our heritage house is the perfect getaway vacation home. Located on the wineries Golden Mile Bench Vineyard, between Oliver and Osoyoos, The Tokios house provides for the perfect idyllic private getaway while also boasting everything you need for entertaining the family, friends or colleagues. The perfect base to explore the stunning South Okanagan region.
