Francis Baptiste is an Indigenous songwriter and music journalist from the Osoyoos Indian Band. His recent debut LP, Snəqsilxʷ (Family), features songs in N̓syilxčn̓, a highly endangered language, spoken fluently by only approximately 150 people. The first single from his LP was released in November, 2021. A deeply personal record that holds immense cultural weight at its heart, Snəqsilxʷ (Family) finds clarity in an ancient language and invigoration in familiar sounds. Awash in chiming guitar and gold-toned keys, Baptiste’s music is alive with a sense of discovery.
