SUMMARY:Barnyard of Screams
DESCRIPTION:*** SOUTH OKANAGAN — WE NEED TO SHOW UP FOR A FAMILY WHO HAS SPENT YEARS SHOWING UP FOR US *** \n\nI don’t think enough people know what this family has been through\, or how much they have done for others.Since opening her accounting firm in 2020\, Jane has helped put more than $500\,000 back into our South Okanagan community through programs such as the Fill-A-Backpack Campaign\, Tax Season Food Bank Drive\, Youth Art Comptetions\, and more. She and her husband have opened their home to children and teens needing a safe place to land\, rescued animals that had been overlooked in shelters\, and built New Beginnings Animal Sanctuary to give vulnerable animals a second chance. \n\nThen the Bald Range Fire changed everything. \n\nWhile his family evacuated\, Jane’s husband stayed behind\, risking his life to protect their home\, their animals and animals belonging to neighbours.Jane didn’t know if her husband was alive. Their daughters thought they had lost their dad. They didn’t know if their home or beloved animals had survived. And even through that terrifying ordeal\, they were still helping others — transporting supplies\, delivering food\, water\, fuel and animal feed\, and getting animals to safety. Now they’re fostering animals displaced by the fire while trying to recover themselves.Their home survived\, but thousands of dollars in damaged fencing and structures won’t be covered by insurance. The trauma has taken its toll\, and ongoing medical concerns have made rebuilding even harder. \n\nYet they’re still thinking about others. They’re preparing a mobile home so a couple or small family who lost their home can have somewhere warm and safe this winter — WITH THEIR PETS. \n\nAnd they’re organizing a Halloween fundraiser on October 24 & 25 to help families affected by the fire. \n\n The attraction? A HUGE Haunted Hay Maze! The hay? It will become winter feed for the sanctuary animals after the event. The problem? They urgently need approximately $40\,000 for hay\, and the event is only 10 days away! \n\nTheir overall recovery goal is approximately $300\,000\, with about $60\,000 raised so far. But right now\, let’s focus on getting that hay. \n\nCan you donate $20? $50? $100? \n\nCan your business sponsor a portion? Do you know a farmer\, trucking company or local business that could help with hay\, transportation\, supplies or equipment? Every contribution matters. \n\nThis family has spent years giving to our community. They’ve helped people\, rescued animals and shown up when others needed them. \n\nThey didn’t stop helping when their own world was falling apart. Now it’s our turn to show up for them. \n\nLet’s get the hay. Let’s help rebuild. Let’s give displaced families and animals a chance at a safer winter. \n\n SOUTH OKANAGAN\, LET’S SHOW THIS FAMILY THEY ARE NOT ALONE. \n\n$40\,000 FOR HAY. 10 DAYS. ONE COMMUNITY. \n\nTo donate\, sponsor or offer supplies and services\, please contact New Beginnings Animal Sanctuary: \n\nnewbeginningsanimalsanctuarybc@gmail.com \n\nCanada Helps: https://www.canadahelps.org/…/new-beginnings-animal…/ \n\nDONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE AS THRE SANCTUARY IS A REGISTERED CHARITY \n\nPlease share far and wide.
