SUMMARY:Delhi 2 Dublin
DESCRIPTION:For nearly two decades\, Delhi 2 Dublin has been at the forefront of South Asian fusion music\, pioneering a global bass sound they call “Subcontinental Pop”—a high-energy blend of Bhangra\, electronic\, hip-hop\, reggae\, and Celtic influences that defies genre and unites dance floors worldwide. As they approach their monumental 20th anniversary in 2026\, the band is re-energized\, re-inspired\, and ready to launch a bold new chapter\, creating fresh music for the first time in six years. Founding members Sanjay Seran and Ravi Binning continue to lead the charge\, pushing Delhi 2 Dublin’s sound and vision to new heights. \n\nWhat began as a one-night collaboration at Vancouver’s Celtic Fest in 2006 quickly evolved into a global phenomenon\, lighting up stages at Electric Forest (USA)\, Glastonbury (UK)\, Burning Man (USA)\, Bali Spirit Festival (Indonesia)\, and Woodford Folk Festival (Australia)\, among many others. Their music has taken them around the world\, from the clubs of Mumbai to the deserts of Nevada\, earning them a reputation for delivering “90 minutes of freebasing joy” at every show. For over a decade\, violinist Serena Eades has been a driving force in the band\, her electrifying performances and deep musicality adding a rich melodic layer to Delhi 2 Dublin’s ever-evolving sound.Now\, with fresh energy coursing through their veins\, Delhi 2 Dublin welcomes producer\, keyboardist\, and tabla player Kal Mattu\, who brings a renewed vibrancy to their ever-evolving sound. This infusion of talent\, combined with their signature fusion of hypnotic dhol\, deep bass\, and euphoric hooks\, ensures their next chapter will be as boundary-breaking and high-energy as ever. \n\nWith a discography that includes critically acclaimed albums like Planet Electric (2010)\, Turn Up The Stereo (2012)\, and We’re All Desi (2015)\, Delhi 2 Dublin has consistently pushed the boundaries of South Asian music. Their 2019 album\, We Got This\, produced by Juno Award-winning Gavin Brown\, marked a major milestone\, earning commercial radio play for the song “My People.” Their innovative approach has secured top spots on international world music charts\, millions of streams\, multiple Western Canadian Music Awards\, and recognition from major platforms like CBC Music\, BBC Asian Network\, and PBS.New music is on the horizon and the festival season promises to be bigger than ever\, Delhi 2 Dublin is set to remind the world why they’ve remained at the top of the global bass music scene for two decades. The party isn’t slowing down—it’s just getting started. \n\nTICKETS: On sale June 16 @ 10:00amAdults – $45Students – $30

SUMMARY:YAMABIKO TAIKO
DESCRIPTION:山彦太鼓　Yamabiko (meaning ‘Mountain Echo’ in Japanese) Taiko was founded in 2003 in Kelowna\, BC\, Canada. \n\nThe BeginningsYamabiko Taiko began with very humble and simple desires: purely to enjoy and play Japanese Taiko-style drums and be lost in their power and grace. With only a few members led by Eri Uchida\, we were able to acquire our very crude but effective drums. They were homemade with regular packing tape and\, believe it or not\, cut-to-size sewer pipes (unused of course!) donated by the City of Kelowna. Weekly practices weren’t even scheduled; the group gathered together whenever possible in the basement of a member’s house. And so with this Yamabiko Taiko  was born! Who knew what was to come… \n\nTodayYamabiko Taiko has evolved into a regularly performing group. Most performances are held in the southern interior of BC. Practices are held on Monday and Thursday evenings in the basement of the Kelowna Buddhist Temple. For more information\, email Yamabiko Taiko from our Contact page.   You can also find us on Facebook. \n\nPart of the Venables Alive! Local Artist Series \n\nTICKETS: $20

SUMMARY:Manpreet for 30 Under 30
DESCRIPTION: Celebrate Excellence: Join Us for Manpreet’s 30 Under 30 Recognition! \n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us on April 18 at 6 pm as we roll out the red carpet to celebrate our winemaker\, Manpreet Dhaliwal\, and her 30 Under 30 recognition. Set in The Hangar event space at Kismet Estate Winery\, this is an evening of celebration\, style\, and exceptional wine. \n\nWe’re so proud to share that our Head Winemaker\, Manpreet Dhaliwal\, has been named to the BCBusiness 30 Under 30 Class of 2026 (on newsstands now). \n\nFor our family\, this is a really special moment. Manpreet did not set out to become a winemaker. She trained as a practical nurse and was working in health care during the pandemic when she came home to help during harvest. What started as stepping in to support the family business quickly turned into something much bigger. She learned winemaking from the ground up\, and in 2023\, at just 26\, became Head Winemaker at Kismet. \n\nSince then\, she has helped shape an exciting new chapter for our winery with a steady\, thoughtful approach in the cellar and a clear vision for where Kismet is headed next. \n\nUnder her leadership\, recent vintages have earned recognition across multiple releases\, including Phulkari Rosé\, Cabernet Franc Reserve\, Moksha\, Sitara Frizzante\, and Mantra. We’ve also been grateful to see more guests visiting us on-site\, and more people joining our wine club. “Being named to BCBusiness 30 Under 30 is such an honour\, especially because this work is so connected to family\, place\, and the people who support us\,” says Manpreet. “I’m proud of what we’ve built so far\, and even more excited about what’s ahead this season as we release new wines and welcome guests back to the winery and Manzil.” \n\nEnjoy a night filled with glamour and entertainment to mark the milestone with Manpreet’s award-winning portfolio and a seated\, multi-course dinner from Manzil Restaurant\, thoughtfully paired for the occasion. Expect great energy\, great food\, and plenty of moments worth raising a glass to. \n\nEach ticket includes a signed bottle of wine\, a red carpet photo opportunity\, and a multi-course dinner with paired wines.Tickets are $150 per person. \n\nPurchase you tickets and join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating Manpreet\, Kismet\, and what’s ahead.

SUMMARY:Open Mic Night
DESCRIPTION:Free admission! Firehall Open Mic & Jam Night is an opportunity for local musicians to perform their art in a public\, social setting in the Firehall Brewery brewpub! Open Mic & Jam Nights are an important part of every music scene\, to allow new musicians to flourish\, and seasoned musicians to hone their trade. Please keep in mind\, the “pub” environment may not always provide an attentive audience\, but capturing the crowd is all part of the challenge 😉 \n\nWe recommend performers RSVP so we know you’re coming! Table reservations are no longer available. \n\nFOR MUSICIANS – PLEASE READ \n\nPlease arrive around 6:30 and identify yourself to our host\, Mike Dallamore\, and let him know if you would like accompaniment (Open Mic style vs Jam style). He will find you a slot for you to play up to three songs. \n\nWe will have three microphones\, and a PA mixer with more than enough inputs for instruments. Small electric amps are permitted\, but they must be coordinated with the sound tech. Small percussion instruments are permitted. Bagpipes are stricly prohibited unless you are wearing a kilt… just kidding (though kilts are awesome). \n\nWe have no restrictions on genre\, though we insist that all performers respect that our space is family-friendly\, and we have a strict intolerance for prejudice or abusive material. \n\nFOR PATRONS – PLEASE READ \n\nPlease respect the musicians. They have worked hard to get up on the stage 🙂

SUMMARY:Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet) Presented by SOAP Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet) is an exuberant comedy and feminist revisioning of Shakespeare’s Othello and Romeo and Juliet. It takes us from a dusty office in Canada’s Queen’s University\, into the fraught and furious worlds of two of Shakespeare’s best-known tragedies\, and turns them upside-down.Constance Ledbelly is the beleaguered “spinster” academic\, and unlikely heroine who embarks on a quest for Shakespearean origins and\, ultimately\, her own identity. When she deciphers an ancient and neglected manuscript\, Constance is propelled through a very modern rabbit hole and lands smack in the middle of the tragic turning points of each play in turn. Her attempts to save first Desdemona\, then Juliet\, from their harrowing fates\, result in a wild unpredictable ride through comedy and near-tragedy\, as mild-mannered Constance learns to love\, sword-fight\, dance Renaissance-style\, and master a series of disguises… Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet) a gender-bendy\, big-hearted and crazily intelligent romp\, where irony and anger sing in perfect harmony with innocence and poignancy.“Clever\, pointed and entertaining… This play is one of the wildest and wooliest feminist reappraisals that the theatre has seen\, and one of the most intellectually ambitious.”The Globe and Mail“Stratford-upon-Acid: that’s where MacDonald’s dizzying Goodnight Desdemona lives… MacDonald traipses through the canon with glee… Lots of clever fun.”The Village Voice \n\nTICKETS:\n\nAdults Advance: $24Adults Door: $26Students Advance: $16Students Door: $18 \n\nBuy Tickets Here
