DESCRIPTION:The Meadowlark Nature Festival is pleased to announce this year’s Rendezvous Evening keynote speaker\, Laura Lynch.The doors open at 5:30 and Laura Lynch\, host of CBC’s “What on Earth” will offer us her insights into climate recovery and restoration in the theatre at 7:30. If you are unfamiliar with Laura’s work\, you can listen to podcasts of her shows at https://www.cbc.ca/radio/whatonearth. Tickets for the Rendezvous include a drink ticket\, our awesome appetizer buffet\, a wonderful silent auction\, and Laura’s presentation. After Laura’s presentation\, the winning bidders’ names will be announced and those lucky people can collect their winnings\, (cash and credit cards accepted).For this year’s Rendezvous\, those in Penticton who are not comfortable with the drive to Oliver can sit back and relax and leave the driving to us. The Meadowlark Festival have organized a bus to take you to Venables Theatre and back from the Walmart parking lot in Penticton. The bus departs Penticton at 5:00pm sharp and returns\, leaving the theatre at 9:00 pm. There is a nominal charge of $10.00 for this return trip. The bus tickets are available on the Meadowlark website at www.meadowlarkfestival.ca. \n\nThe Meadowlark Nature Festival has been celebrating the coming of spring since 1998. This year’s festival will open with a movie night on Thursday May 15th focusing on restoration and recovery. Tours will begin early Friday morning and run throughout the long weekend of May.Rendezvous with your friends at the Venables Theatre May 17\, it will be fun!

DESCRIPTION:The Station Street Market is located in between the Visitor Information Centre and the Coast Hotel in the beautiful grass area just off Station Street.  The Market is part of the Grow Oliver plan which is striving for the revitalization and activation of our downtown core.  Unique stores\, local products\, everyday services\, delicious and satisfying food options are important to our residents and guests alike.  We are excited to be making improvements to Station Street and a Sunday Market is going to be a great way for our community to gather and see what our talented and dedicated local vendors are creating around our region.  \n\n2024 was our first year and we are thankful for the support of many organizations\, businesses\, and people that dove right in to help get this market going. \n\nThis year for the market will run Sundays\, from 9 am to 1 pm\, May 25 to Oct. 5*\, 2025. \n\n*There will be no market on June 15 – Roots and Fruits Expo and no market on September 21 – Festival of the Grape.  Both of these events will be at the Oliver Community Centre and we encourage everyone to go check out those events! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n​

SUMMARY:Half Corked Marathon
DESCRIPTION:The annual Half Corked Marathon is a unique run that weaves participants through the vineyards and valleys of the region’s iconic wine-growing areas\, the Black Sage and Golden Mile Benches\, along with sections along the beautiful Okanagan River. Winery stations dot the route\, with the opportunity to engage with the region’s colourful characters as they pour samples for runners to enjoy. Creative costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded for the best individual costume\, best team and best skit. \n\nParticipants should plan that their wave time could be assigned at ANYTIME on Saturday morning and will have a maximum of 3.5 hours to complete the course. \n\nEndorsed by BC Athletics\, participants should be able to run 5km with some levels of incline over rugged terrain\, in order to comfortably complete the route in the time allocated. As always\, the Sag Wagon will be ready to assist guests who don’t reach the mid-way point before the cut off time\, and transport them to the Party at the Finish Line.
