He shares his lock-down experience with his family\, how he was somehow chosen by the Quebec government to be the spokesperson on how to stay safe and sound during the pandemic (Seems the government didn’t do its research on role-model candidates)\, and some new adventures he’s been on during and since the (hopefully) end of the pandemic. And there will probably be some swearing\, and a few dirty stories sprinkled in there too. One thing is for certain; Derek is back with a re-invigored enthusiasm and excitement at being back on stage in front of live people. A show not to be missed for anyone who loves stand-up comedy. You will recognize Derek as a favourite on CBC Radio’s\, “The Debaters” with more than thirty times and two television recordings of their show.

The Picnic features a rocking party atmosphere hyped by two bands. On top of great music\, come for the food: there will be top local chefs transforming humble hotdogs into works of culinary art for your dining enjoyment. \nSaturday\, the excitement gets rolling at 10:30 am with the annual Roots & Fruits Parade. After the parade\, come down to the Oliver Community Park for the Roots and Fruits Expo. This year’s line-up is HUGE\, including non-stop music and entertainment on two stages\, art demonstrations\,  tons of kids’ activities\, and vendors right through until 10:00pm. \nJust some of the things to enjoy include: more than two dozen musicians and performers\, art exhibitions and demonstrations at the Roots and Fruits Exhibit Hall\, petting zoo\, vendors’ market\, activity stations\, food trucks\, vegetable car construction and racing\, piles of kids’ activities\, and so much more.
