DESCRIPTION:~ OMG TICKETS ON SALE NOW ~\n\nUncork Together in Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country at the 18th annual Half Corked Marathon on May 28 – 31 2026! \n\nThis unique run (route TBD\, between 20-24km) weaves participants through the vineyards and valleys of the region’s iconic wine-growing areas\, the Black Sage Road and Golden Mile\, along with sections along the beautiful Okanagan River. Winery stations dot the route and the Finish Line Party\, with the opportunity to engage with the region’s colourful characters as they pour samples for runners to enjoy. As always\, creative costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded for the best individual costume\, best team and best skit. \n\nHalf Corked Marathon weekend also includes additional ticketed events such as the Block Party\, a casual\, and fun dinner experience with live music on Friday May 29th\, and Dinner at the Farm\, an intimate\, elegant multi-course feast on a winery location the evening following the run. Both events include transportation from Oliver and Osoyoos\, dinner\, wine and entertainment (separate tickets\, not included in your race ticket). \n\n\n\nSaturday May 30th\, 2026\n\nParticipants should plan that their wave time could be assigned at ANYTIME on Saturday morning and will have a maximum of 3.5 hours to complete the course. \n\nEndorsed by BC Athletics\, participants should be able to run 5km with some levels of incline over rugged terrain\, in order to comfortably complete the route in the time allocated. SUMMARY:David Barber at Phantom Creek
DESCRIPTION:Dave Barber is a Canadian musician\, recording artist (Molly’s Eyes\, 2023)\, songwriter\, singer\, and live performer. He creates beautiful unhurried melodies and songs rich in tone and playfulness\, pulling from classic country\, roots\, folk\, and jazz. Dave met his wife Kirby in Edmonton where they started gigging. It was great training for what came next. \n\nKirby and I moved to Vancouver in 2011\, in search of new opportunities to play with different artists and push ourselves. This is where I met and played with people like Chad Brownlee\, Dallas Smith\, and had a banjo part on a four-times platinum single by Coleman Hell\, 2 Heads. \n\nA big part of our growth as musicians has been to leave one scene and move to another. We did that again\, in 2017\, when we moved to Nashville. \n\nNashville is where the big names play and record\, so you have all sorts of opportunities to learn and grow at even a higher level of talent and professionalism. \n\nI’m excited to finally be putting together my own work\, expressing who I am. At this point\, I’m most excited about trying to create my own sound\, a sound and a style that puts together the many elements of music that I love. \n\nMe being me is all that I can bring to the musical table. And it’s the most interesting challenge I’ve set myself to date.
